Red Shoe New Orleans coordinates vertical and horizontal campaigns that allow residents to communicate with each other and local and national community leaders.

There is something inherently and unshakably intimate about written communication.
POSTCARDLouisiana is a communication campaign that provides residents and concerned citizens with a simple format to share their experiences with each other, friends, family members, and elected officials and be comforted. Each postcard features the post-Katrina art of a local artist.

Neighborhood 100 an effort to seek and find residents "real" answers to their most pressing questions and concerns. Volunteers go into local neighborhoods and survey 100 residents; asking each to write their thoughts on a postcard, including their name and a mailing address. These concerns are communicated to the Mayor's office, which works diligently to provide each resident with a timely specific answer.

What makes New Orleans "New Orleans" for you? Starting with this question, Red Shoe New Orleans goes across the city asking residents if home is where the heart is where y'at? Each participant's picture is taken, while holding their "place" on a 7x5 card, which is then placed on the website. This initiative focuses more on raising the morale of returning residents, thus each picture and the story that follows hopes to encourage residents, while sparking discussion.

Everyone needs a break at some point. Red Shoe New Orleans will host social events that bring supporters and New Orleans residents together in an atmosphere that will uplift the morale of the rebuilding efforts for everyone.
